speaking as someone with depression & other mental illnesses a good thing to practice is making a habit out of joy…best ways to do this are being mindful of how you talk to yourself, engaging with what interests you, challenging your bad thoughts, speaking up, learning to enjoy time alone (maybe the most important thing you can do for yourself), uninhibiting your laughter, confronting your own flaws & discomfort, and allowing yourself to acknowledge what you are feeling (& knowing that sometimes a feeling requires no action further than being recognized)…..things will become manageable & you will love life i promise
